Crisp weiss beer with natural grapefruit flavor
A traditional shandy is beer mixed with a little something extra, like lemonade, soda or ginger ale. Leinenkugel's® Grapefruit Shandy is our take on this tradition. Each batch begins with our traditional weiss beer. We then combine it with natural white grapefruit flavor that adds a note of fresh-cut citrus, because here refreshment is our greatest natural resource.

From a 12 oz can. Poured a hazy yellow/muted yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was grapefruit, kind of like Fresca. Flavor was similar, citrus, grapefruit. Fine, but not as refreshing as I'd had hoped for a shandy.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Cloudy light orange with small white head. Aroma is fresh grapefruit, medium body, medium carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is grapefruit and soft beer that does not completely meld.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh grapefruit, orange juice pith, and moderate sweetness. Flavour is very pithy and artificial, with sweet grapefruit, orange pith, and earthy sweetness. Artificial and unconvincing, but it's pleasant enough for what it is.

12oz bottle picked up at Harmons
Pours hazy straw yellow with a medium sized white head, some lacing. Aroma of fresh squeezed grapefruit. Flavor of grapefruit, wheat, plastic and lemon, dry finish
Smells great but falls short on the taste.

Kroger bottle. Hazy pale gold with a white head. Aroma of ruby grapefruit juice. Flavor is ruby grapefruit, bread, dough, paper. Inoffensive, not too sweet. Drinkable but not something I’d seek out.

On tap at NRG Stadium. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is cereal, wheat, lemon, grapefruit. Thin body, wheat, lemon, pure sugar, grapefruit, tart, decent.

From a can. Aome geapefruit flavor and aroma, but no taste of beer at all. It is a poor comparison to Stiegl or Schoenhoffer. Thin palate.

Strong and distinctly grapefruit nose. Milky yellow, thin head. Grapefruit, mild. Stale malt finish. Light body, soft carbonation. More soda than beer. Refreshing.

Bottle at wedding event. Hot day, good quencher. Lots of grapefruit flavor, however, there didn’t seem to be too much of a beer backing it up. For what it was, a summer beer, it was on, but nothing I’d order again.
