On tap at Hangar on the wharf.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt semi-dark red / copper color with a bar pour’s kind of head, slim fair to none. Decent soapy clingy roundabout lacing graces the glass nicely.
The smell had a sweet caramel malt up front with a decent bitter citrus embracing around the malts.
The taste was mainly sweet through the malts and allowed a semi - sweet caramel sticky aftertaste. The finish was quick and barely there.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style but seemed to come across more so as an amber with its smooth rolling caramel maltiness running over my tongue.
Overall, I think I liked it for what it was but really didn’t see it as an AIPA. I might have it again.
