Backlog October 2013. Black body under a big, creamy beige head. Aroma has dark malt, fruity and some chocolate. Taste is a bit sweet and sour with dark malt, chocolate, a fruity touch and moderate bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Feels a bit average and one dimensional but definitivly drinable.

Bottle from October 2008!!! Dark brown coloured body with a nice opaque and deep brown glow with a good, three centimetre tall rich brown head that fades moderately and doesn't leave anything at all on the sides - beautiful, considering the age here - amazing! Aroma of roasted malt (of course), some oats, a lot of caramelised sugars, some toffee, treacle, raisins, figs and a good dose of molasses, with some alcohol noticeable in the nose, but not much. Medium-bodied; Rich malts show up front with some good sweetness from the caramel and molasses with a light dose of coffee and bitterness here, but a relatively smooth oat profile at the end with a good dose of mild figs and prunes that bring out some fruits at the tail end. Aftertaste shows some additional sugars, with a light bitter aftertaste from the roasted malts with a good kick of vanilla and earth noticeable throughout and a touch of alcohol, but not much. Overall, a surprisingly well-kept beer that shows nicely and brings out all the flavours you'd expect with some nuanced notes, a dash of bitterness and sweetness, but good throughout and somehow, very nice to keep in my own possession, having flown halfway around the world for 15 years, and surviving a move, a wedding and births of three kids! I sampled this perfectly clear, nicely boxed (it is Singapore after all), 640 (wierd size) perfectly clear bottle, purchased from Brewerkz Brewery (in Clark Quay) from Singapore, Singapore on 28-November-2008 with my [now wife], brought back and sampled during my 10k beer rating celebration on 25-June-2023 at home here in Washington on the other side of the planet.

Bottle. Black. Pours a huge head. Malt, roast, ash and a hint of caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet milky caramelly, soft roasty flavor. Thinnish. Not bad.

28/7/2018. Bottle at Højbjerg tasting. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of liquorice, chocolate, roasted coffee, malt, oats, dark fruit and toffee. Medium sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight slickness to texture, but quite fizzy to go with it. Pretty decent apart from that.smoke,

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting 28 July. Pours hazy dark brown / ruby with airy gray tan head. Clear aroma of malt and oats, with notes of yeast and hints of fruit. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of hops and touches of yeast and hints of spice. Roasty and mildly acidic aftertaste.

Bottle @ Saxo tasting. Gusher. Clear very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Very high carbonation. 280718

Bottle. Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Bottle @Højbjerg Tasting. Gusher. Black with airy, fluffy light beige head. Aroma has roast and light licorice. Fizzy, fluffy mouthfeel. Flavour has light roast, caramel and some licorice and coffee.

Tap @ Brewekrz, Riverside Point. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, coffee, hops and has a nice bitter finish.
