Shared at Ale Alpharetta. Dark brown, with barely a tan ring. Nose is very boozy, vanilla, caramel, cloves, molasses, and burnt toast. Very sweet, pretty spicy, and a touch of bitterness. Very heavy body, sticky, and sharp. Lovely, boozy, grainy, and delicious beer.

Bottle at RBWG ’15 Grand Tasting @ Coppertail, thanks to whomever shared this one, 21/02/15. Mahogany brown with a moderate beige swirl and edgeing. Nose is spice, liquorice, chocolate, dark fruits, toffee. Taste comprises subtle bourbon, toffee fudge, cocoa notes, dark fruit rinds, fruit cake, dates, toasted brown sugar. Full bodied, fine carbonatin, sweet licks in the close. Solid BA BW, drinks below the ABV, hangs together well.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with ruby glints and a tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, treacle, and hints of whisky. Med + body. Flavor is brown sugar, treacle, some dark/plummy fruit and arguably hints of whisky. Could be some floral/fruit hop. No particular spice hints. Heat is undetectable. It’s a lovely brew.

rbwg2015. Oh man! Who brought this to the grand tasting? Whoever it is I am in your debt my friend. The 22oz bomber pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up nectar rich malts, molasses, prunes and dates. Yes. The taste begins with wonderful smooth rich nectar sweet malts and molasses and getting into thin reduced rich plums and molasses drizzled ripe cherries. This is just rich and silky and integrated and indulgent. Love it! Wow!!

Draft pour at the Brouwers Cafe hard liver festival. Rating from notes. Pours a dark cola brown with a fading tan head. Boozy raisin like aroma. Flavor is mostly dry, and a little smokey. Almost a tobacco like smoke, but not at the point to where it is off putting. A little leathery as well. Finishes much sweeter than the initial impression. Long drawn out earthy finish. Overall a pretty tasty beer.
