vintage bottle a few years old. No gusher, but some volcano activity after openend, so a sneaky volcano beer. aroma is bone dry coffe and roasted malts, bitter toffee, bitter nuts. dark chocolate. harbal bitter mint notes too. flavor is roasted malts, faint citrussy note (could be connected to the volcanic gushing) very dry and very straight bitter malty. somewhat watery but then it’s only 6%. Not sure it was a good idea to age this one, but it is a fine dry stout, the mint is only used as a discreete spice, it does not ruin the already pretty solid dry stout flavor.

Bottle at Black Sunday. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is chocolate, faint mint, roasted malt. Medium mouth with mint, cocoa, nice roast, very good.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a light tan head. Coffee aroma building into sweet chocolate syrup, then mint. Rather sweet milk chocolate mint flavor, some cocoa bitterness and roast coffee. A bit like chocolate milk. Tasty, but a little weird.

12 oz. bottle thanks to fishmich. Thanks for the opportunity! Pitch black color with a thin ring of white head, light spider web lacing. Aroma reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Mint is mellow with a underlying chocolate malt aroma. Flavor again reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Mouthfeel is more porter light rather than stout, on the lighter side. Subtle mint and chocolate that comes off nice and subtle. Pretty interesting stout and worth a try for sure.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a quickly dissipating, somewhat fizzy brown head that leaves a ring and decent lacing behind. Aroma is quite coffee, lots of heavily roasted malts, some ashtray and a bit of cocoa. Flavor is ashy, burned, some cocoa. Coffee that somebody put a cigarette out in. Perhaps a bit of mint, but it is not out there. Medium body, a bit of acid, high carbonation.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/20/2014. Pours moderately murky/cloudy pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, mint, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with well balanced dark/roast malt, coffee, and mint notes; with good strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, mint, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of roasted bitterness and cooling mint on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, roast, mint, coffee, dark bread, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and mint flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, smooth, and lightly chalky/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice flavored stout. All around good balance and robustness of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and mint flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Like it better then naughty girl. Mint a bit less subtle here, and more cocoa

On tap at Odd Side. Body is dark brown with a very thin head and lots of coffee and a little chocolate on the nose. Some mint that comes through stronger in the flavor. This beer has balance, interest and extra style points for the mint. Awesome stuff!
