Sour Ale Aged On Cherries

The time-honored Belgian tradition of aging and blending fruit beers is lovingly expressed in this lively creation, named for legendary brewmaster Rosa Merckx of Liefmans, our sister blendery in Belgium where this beer is crafted.

A charming combination of Oud Bruin, a tart Flemish brown ale, and Cuvee Brut, a cheerful cherry beer, Rosetta offers elegance, depth, complexity and an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness.

As of April 2020, Rosetta is available in four-packs of 12 ounce cans.

Bought at Liquor Shed in Casper, best by August 28th 2023.

It pours a reddish brown with a small but very long lasting head of foam, lacing is superb.

It smells of cherries, Brett, the overall nose leans on the medicinal side.

The taste is a bit dull. ( single can sitting on a warm shelf)
The cherries seem to have lost their luster. It is not have a lot of tartness, not much going on.

Good mouthfeel. I will give the smell and taste a 3 because I'm sure that under the right conditions, this would shine.

Dedicated to Sweet Rosetta Martin. 12 ounce bottle. Hazy reddish brown color. Brief beige head. Tart sour fruit nose hints at cherries. Flavor is sour cherries, yeast and light toffeeish malt. Some briney notes. Wonderfully simple and flavorful. Softly carbonated . Creamy mouthfeel. Outstanding. A very faithful representation of the Flanders Brown Ale style.

12 oz can from Harvest Market. Electric Ruby in color with a pink tinged head that persists. Cherry bready light lactic nose and flavor. Pretty tasty Flanders like cherry beer but seems like it could use more lactic tartness almost like it was dumbed down for the masses.
