Dark brown pour, hazy, with a thin tan head. Notes of roasted malts, chocolate, dried fruit, sugar and a light metallic sensation. Medium body and carbonation and a bitter-sweet finish.

Pours reddish brown from the bottle and leaves a thick, foamy head that quickly subsides. Mild aroma of roasted grain with a light red berry undertone. Taste is smokey, bittersweet, with both chocolate and coffee undertones. Bittersweet may be a bit generous of a term. Bitterness is there, and sweetness too, but the meshing is less than perfect. Overall lighter than most German bocks and with a finish that trends grainy and smokey instead of rich and sweet. Good, but I would not seek it out again.

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zoet, noten, chokolade en caramel. Erg goede bok.
