Sampled from the tap at the Mundelin beer fest. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the eddges. Aroma is full of passion fruit with sweet wheat and a hint of tartness. Flavor is also full of passion fruit with a bit of earthiness, light spice and underlying sweetness.

Bottle, at Encore Liquid Lounge in the Loop. Fruity nose, but different than the usual wit nose. Hazy yellow color, the bottle pour bubbles can’t keep up, leaving a thin scrum of bubbles. But the taste is a big, big surprise: Not a hint of passion fruit, but a slap on the back. Makes for a different kind of fruity tartness. Some lime works in midway through, or sweetened key lime. And the spice? My fall back guess is cilantro or sage. After a summer parade of mild light wits and kölsches, this is a refreshing splash in the face.

Enjoyed on tap at Fountainhead in Chicago, IL after going to some old dudes retirement party in a ritzy suburban country club. Appearance pretty cloudy, bright yellow with thin but rich white head that sticks to the glass.
Aroma is really unique, citrus hops with a very apparent and pungent passion fruit, very ’south of the border’ for sure. Taste really kicks you with the face with fruitiness, not really in a bad way, just unusual to me as the guava really does come through. Up front I’m not into it at all, the finish is nice though with good bitterness and it finishes crisp. For a wit, not really getting any spice/yeast, just fruit. There is a juiciness to it for sure, haven’t experienced a beer like this which is a plus, but I know now that its not really my thing. Glad I experienced it.
