Draft from pork barrel. Medium brown pour. Malty aroma. Tingly almost spicy hops and caramel. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Deep brown color with an off white, two finger head. Aroma is spruce and roasted grains. Taste is a hoppy, citrus with hints of burnt toast and coffee.

Strong rosehip nose, orange underneath. Clear brown, medium yellow head, good lace. Soil, pine, marigold, grapefruit, some ash. Tar finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. Interesting hop bill for the style but it worked. Nice complexities showed upon warming.

12 oz from Wegman’s, past best by date. Not a traditional brown ale, but an ok hoppy variant of the style. Citrus nose, not quite full body. Taste is resiny, with roasted malt more prominent in the finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/26/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish copper/light brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/pine/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light chocolate/cocoa, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.2%. Overall this is a great hoppy American brown ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Very bright and pretty dank on hop flavors; but still really well balanced with the malt, and not overly bitter. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at the Erie in Port Jervis, NY with my man, PETER! It pours a dark copper color with a creamy, light khaki head. The aroma has some weed, treacle, cola and pine. Kinda strange, but not bad. The flavor has cherry cola, treacle, weed and pine. A little sweet caramel and toast. Medium bodied with some spicy bitterness along with subtle roasted malt in the finish. Decent.

Lots of citrus hops and some roast. Light caramel. Hazy brown pour with decent head. Light bittersweet finish. Decent, but not really a brown ale. Bottle from mixed six.

Slightly hazy deep brown with a tall, off-white head. Light aroma of citrus hops and a malty nuttiness. The flavor starts with a bitter hop bite, then the roast malts finish. This beer is some blend of IPA, Brown Ale and Hoppy American stout.
