A German-style ale that originates in the Dusseldorf region, alt refers to the "old" style of brewing with ale yeast (Germany has a very strong lager brewing tradition.) This deep bronze hued bier has some malt accents from the use of Munich and Chocolate Wheat malts and has a pronounced hop flavor from imported Spalt hops. 5.4%

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma was almost non-existent when I first smelled this one. As it warmed aroma came out. Flavor was there at the start - sweet malts, nutty character, mild hops. Flavor was sweet malts, sugar, no real hop character in this one.
