Liberty IPA™ is our reimagining of craft-brew classic Liberty Ale®, envisioned through the lens of today’s IPAs. We first brewed Liberty Ale in 1975, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Paul Revere’s midnight ride. This revolutionary forerunner of the modern IPA introduced America to the Cascade hop and the nearly lost art of dry-hopping. Like its predecessor, Liberty IPA is made with two-row pale malt and Cascade hops. It is the combination of Cascade with new hop varieties that creates the mouthwateringly complex and robust aromas of pine and citrus in this crisp, American-style IPA.

355 ml bottle from BeerLovers, Vienna.
Amber, medium hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma with the characteristic Anchor yeast, citrus, grass, flowers, passion fruit, biscuit, slight candy.
Tastes similar, with additional pine.
Finishes smooth, bitter, piney, zesty, floral, a bit herbal, subtly sweet.
Really nice. A quite typical hoppy Anchor ale, maybe a bit hoppier, with lovely pine notes towards the finish. Well balanced and smooth to drink, while not as perfectly accomplished like Liberty Ale.

A very approachable IPA full of pine, tropical citrus, sweet malts, and some light herbal notes. Medium bodied. Full flavored and quite tasty yet reserved enough to have a few of. Nice.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold color topped by a big rocky white head. Subtle earthy malt nose with hints of citrus. First sip yields complex malt and hop flavors. Bready malt with pine and citrus hops. Tart and juicy middle. Dry bitter finish. I still prefer the the original Liberty Ale, but this is a nice effort from Anchor, nonetheless.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours bright gold with a white head. Aroma is very fruity - tropical and white berry. Med body or so. Flavor is mild caramel, and some tropical fruit. Might be a bit of citrus. Not all that dry, and not all that bitter, but bitter enough. A good old school IPA, except the hops are a bit modern.

A careful pour reveals a light gold brew, clear, 1 finger head of foam that leaves lacing behind as it shrinks.
Lovely hoppy notes of citrus and pine abound. Kinda earthy with what appears to be a good malty backbone.
Citrus tasting, bitter, earthy with some noticeable fruitiness. I love swishing the beer in my mouth as it brings out the subtle nuances.
Medium body with a zesty level of carbonation, it finishes dry and bitter but not without a resplash of some malt sweetness.
Excellent beer and very drinkable. Nicely done, Anchor!
