Can. Dark brown in color with a large, large head that quickly disappeared and had no residue and no lace. Very strong coffee aroma. Taste is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, molasses and hints of bourbon.

Good/high clarity to the dark mahogany body. Deep auburn highlights very apparent. Tan head atop is medium-sized and shows moderate retention.
Smells like a very prototypical BA stout, with the addition of lactose fairly apparent as well, adding some tanginess and vanilla-like cream notes. A lot of oak, maybe not overdone, though pushing it....with chocolate fudge, coconut and spicy liquor-like notes. The beer aspects are, perhaps, a bit on the thin side, though it makes for a lighter overall experience, in the flavor/texture. The aroma, however, suffers as it just seems like lots of strong oak, bourbon, dark fruits, and a rather thin creamy-chocolate character. Roast is light to moderate and there is no alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it’s got a medium body, more lactose-sticky than actually malty. Bourbon/oak character is strong. Not overdone had this been an Imperial stout, but given its lighter nature, I think there’s just a bit too much here. Chocolate, light roast, hints of fudge, coconut and vanilla are all fairly polished and even but overall it just seems too thin of a beer, with rather loose, peppery carbonation. Needs much more maltiness in the texture. Fine, though, and it’s nice to see a non-Impy version.

12oz can pours a murky black with some cloudy, white head. Nose has cheap vanilla, booze, chocolate, yeast. Flavor is cheap, cheap vanilla, cheap malt, bad rootbeer. Sweet finish. Not real good.

12oz can. Really not much of a barrel tone, pretty weak on that front. Opaque black-brown body. No head to speak of after a minute. There isn’t enough going on in this beer to warrant barrel aging, and the flavors imparted seems really minimal, light, bland. Too sugary, and not much depth. Bland lifeless body. Disappointing.

Can: Black with a short and thick tan head. Chocolate, vanilla aroma. Taste is creamy chocolate, vanilla. More of a sweetened wood taste than actual bourbon...... Good stuff, but a bit predictable.... Nice vanilla notes... Very good.

Poured from a can dated 08/17/2015. Aroma has nice rich chocolate notes that are accentuated by the oatmeal. Lighter roast character with some coffee notes. Light to faint bourbon and oak notes. Pours black with a medium sized, moderately thick, light mocha head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin film that lingers a bit on the edges. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with a lot of rich chocolate notes as well as quite a bit of coffee. Some lighter roast with hints of dark fruit including prunes, figs and berries. Medium light bitterness. Faint oak with some light bourbon notes. Lingering sweetness and some oatmeal notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and somewhat creamy with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, I actually like this beer quite a bit. I think I like the sweetness from oatmeal cream stouts more than I do from the lactose in milk stouts. Nice chocolate and coffee notes. Bourbon is light, but it works since the beer has a low ABV.

Can from RobertDale, thanks for the hookup! Dark brown/black color with a decent sized tightly bubbled white head that dissipates quickly. Roasty coffee and chocolate with lots of vanilla and a bit of diacetyl. Bourbon/Barrel is faint. Decent Stout, glad I got to try.

12 oz. can. Oily black, with a big, bubbly, tan head. Nose is anise, burnt toast, bitter chocolate, and a touch of caramel and vanilla. Sweet, with just a touch of roasted bitterness. Medium to heavy body, oily, and a bit harsh. Quite an assertive stout, with some interesting aromas.
