This blended golden sour beer was fermented with our ultra-tropical Brettanomyces house cultures, and conditioned 220g/l of pineapple and passionfruit puree for one month. Brewed with locally grown malted barley, wheat and oats this super juicy base beer provided flavours of mango, passionfruit and tinned pineapple which were further intensified with the fruit additions.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a cloudy (almost murky) golden orange with minimal off-white head. The aroma is sharp with pineapple. In the mouth it is the strong but juicy sharpness that swamps everything. Flavours are oranges mango and pineapple. These are all fairly strong but I can’t detect any other underlying flavours. Some bitterness in the finish. Not a bad beer at all – but I’m way outside my comfort zone !

375ml bottle via the online shop. Hazed deep peachy gold. No head. Nose has unripe pineapple. Sour citrus fruit. Tangy yeast. Oats. Taste is sour and fairly dry. Pretty acidic with fine carbonation. Sour fruity finish. Oaty and slightly metallic aftertaste. Below par for this brewer.
