Cooking is a smooth, full flavoured golden bitter which drinks better than its gravity, with a bitter-sweet balance and drinkability, essential in a true session beer.
With its DNA dating back to the days of Ruddles Best, once brewed in Langham just two miles away, Cooking was the first beer produced at The Grainstore Brewery and is still a firm favourite amongst the local cask ale drinkers and landlords.
It is a classic British Pale Ale brewed using Maris Otter and the Kings of British Hops, Challenger and Fuggles.

Amber color. Light malt aroma, with very light hop and fruits. Weak structure (it’s not a strong beer), but anyway with some malt, caramel and a very strong bitterness, also very long.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] A nutbrown beer with a fine beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with notes of caramel and hints of diacethyl. The flavor is cast flat with notes of oranges as well as hints of hops and flowers.
