Medium brown with nitro head. There’s toffeeish barley wine on the nose. On the palate it has that rich bourbony bw, along with creamy body. Some light roasty stout, so all the elements are here. Interesting, actually. I’d still prefer the base bw on its own.

On tap at Threefold, pours black with a large beige head. Aroma has soft bourbon, toasted malt, and a touch of earthiness. Flavour has a nice strong bourbon character upfront, soft toasted malt, and a touch of dry earthy cocoa. If you’re gonna do a nitro stout, may as well pour bourbon BA stout into it to enhance it. Good stuff.

On tap. Pours black with moderate nitro head. Aromas of creamy coffee and roasted malts. Great visuals with nitro but muted aromas… Flavors follow same but with some plastic-y notes. Not getting much of the barrel mix.

Nitro pour at Threefold. Pours nearly black with a beige nitro head. Roast, brown sugar, and light bourbon barrels on the nose. Flavour has nice roast, good bourbon barrel character, some dry dark sugars. I was a bit dubious of the concept, but it has solid barrel character while maintaining drinkability. Nice.
