Copper color with a medium sized white head that left decent lacing. Cocoa, nut and coffee. Long finish. Medium body.

12 oz can from a six pack. Aroma has notes of vanilla, cocoa, butterscotch. Pours clear golden with a one finger bone-white head with decent to good retention. Taste has some perceived sweetness from the vanilla and white chocolate and some hoppy bitterness in the background. There’s a somewhat soapy off-note here that isn’t too intrusive. Pretty tasty overall.

Christmas gift mixed six pack item from a bottle from a friend. Pour is clear pale with an every so slight orange tint. Nose is odd gravel slag like that of old J&L steel works. Very little head. I could never figger out why they call these pale beers stout, very few if any actually have any taste character as real stout. This for example, tastes like an odd pale ale of sorts, nothing in here reminds me of stout. The use of pale malts removes any likeness to roasty dark stout, and adding adjuncts like cocoa oats, vanilla, and coffee beans to mimic those flavors, results in a stupid ass lighter beer that is not really stout. Those additions do not help! Well, lets call it a white stout and make a new style category to fool all those so called beer tickers out there. So be it, and I fell for it too! Wait, even tho there is no mocha or coffee flavor in this, I think I'm picking out some vanilla and an ever so slight bitterness on the finish but, I dont see it listed on the label. Oh well, another tick.

Clear gold pour. Smells of grainy, bready malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet and malty with mild chocolate. It’s okay. I remain fairly unimpressed with the style. Just give me a real stout.
