Don't know why they call it a English Porter when it's made with a lager yeast. Also like the can label saying the working man's pint in a 12 oz can. But it's a decent standard smooth porter. Aromas are dark malt, toast, and minerals. Flavors are on the sweet side, like nose, add in a bit of molasses. Decent enough but nothing amazing.

Dark brown coloured body with a very thin, fast-dying slightly off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, toffee, caramel, nuts and a bit of earth - fairly strong, but all good. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong sweet flavour at first with a good roasted malt flavour with an earthy and slightly pungent bite soon afterwards. Aftertaste shows some good qualities and a nice complexity with chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and earth very noticeable. Overall, a nice complex and roust porter - a great beer, especially for the style.I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Ridgeview Liqours in Green Bay, Wisconsin for US$1.79 sampled at my hotel room in Green Bay on 29-July-2012.

A deep dark porter with a receding brown head. In aroma, a herbaceous chocolate with light coffee notes, wild grass, so-so. In mouth, a light sweet chocolate with light herbal and acidic notes, medium bodied. On tap at the Istmus Beer and Cheese, Jan 21 2012.

Bottle. Deep brown body, red highlights. Fizzy, beige head, diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, ash. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Dry roast finish with a hint of sweet sugar/molasses/lactic that turns tart, then bitter. Tastes of nuts, roast, vanilla and a note of coffee. A bit flabby, watery going into the finish, but overall a nice collection of aromas and flavors. Enjoyable and easy drinking.

12oz bottle. Deep, opaque brown-black. Thin tan head. Mellow sweet dark malt aroma. Lots of roasty flavor intermingled with a nice balanced crisp bitterness. Some lingering coffee in the aftertaste. There is a little dark fruit in there as well. Big, bold, and rich. A touch fuller than most Porters. Certainly above par in my opinion, a nice take on the style.
