Tap at Stem - unlike the cider aged in zin barrels, the barrel in this one doesn’t quite work, and covers up some of the delicate flavors of the base cider - bourbon is very evident in the nose, and kind of a distraction - the barrel is less evident in the flavor, adding a toasty vanilla note and minimal sweetness - the finish is where you can finally taste the apple and tart character of the cider - dry finish - my least favorite here.
