Morticia is the end. Once experienced, other beer is bland and insipid. Black as a moonless night, her aroma tempting, her strength deceptively powerful. She is unrestrained at youth, and learns mercy only with time. Morticia overpowers the senses, then warms the soul. Nursing each sip you will be transformed. And as you reach the height of her enchantment, the pinnacle of ecstasy; she will break your neck and eat you. The end.

22oz bottle, 2013 vintage, pours an oily black with some creamy, beige head. Nose is well balanced, nutty, molasses, malty, earthy, mild booze, some light coffee. Flavor is very well balanced and smooth, molasses, licorice, malt, chocolate, coffee, light pepper. Full bodied finish, but again, quite easy to put back.

Bottle sample at Dror’s place. Thanks Dror. Opaque black with a firm, rather stable, light brown head. Aroma is heavily roasted, a bit burnt, with coffee, lots of dark chocolate, a bit of licorice and a bit of alcohol. Bittersweet flavor with dark chocolate, coffee, big roastiness, a bit of alcohol, a bit of dark fruits notes and an ashy bitter finish. Rather full-bodied, kinda silky. Very nice.

A deep dark stout with a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, a beautiful floral hops, chocolate with light black pepper notes, very smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with coffee, pepper, molasses, some aniseed, very rich and warming. On tap at Bierkraft, Dec. 29 2011.
