We're excited for the first annual iteration of this hoppy beer, highlighting crops from our recent selection in Yakima, and to pay a little homage to our previous tenant, Prescott Brewing Company. This beer will change year to year, with the primary focus of highlighting one of the hop farms we blindly choose through @yakimachief. This year our Citra crop was grown from @colemanagriculture, who was also stoked about some Strata lots this year that we also grabbed up. Those Strata lots were some of the first ever Strata to go through the Cryo facility at YCH, and boy, were these pellets insane.

This beer at its base is a classic Red IPA, hopped regularly through the boil with our select Citra, bringing some classic orange citrus balancing its malt profile. Dry hopped with more Citra and two hand selected lots of the Cryo Strata, this beer bursts with a little cran-raspberry flavor, ripe grapfruit, refreshing florality, and piney bitterness. A perfect beer to celebrate the year, and the beginning of a great new tradition to get our brew teams together on the brewdeck.

Pint can pours with a crystal clear amber to deep copper colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up malts, pine hops, a dash of berry to melon and then a citrus hop sensation toward the end of the draw. The taste delivers a subtle malty backbone with thin crystal malt likes nuances supporting a little less subtle hoppy goodness. I get some thin citrus hoppy bite and bigger tangy to juicy notes. Behind those are mild berry to faintly melon to some pine hope bite taking this into the finish. Nice stuff that won't be too hoppy or too malty for most. I'd dig a bit deeper hoppiness but I'm digging what this is doing.
