Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Tom L. Black, beige head. Chocolate, roast, some nuts, caramel, sweet, a bit too much, ashy bitter finish, over-carbonated.

Bottle, opaque very dark brown color, medium bubbly fluffy light brown head, aroma and flavor of dark bread and barnyard with a bit of chocolate, wood in aroma and coal in the flavor, lively and just a touch aggressive carbonation. Drinkable but quite mediocre.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.0%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, cocoa / dark chocolate, a faint hint of smoke. Medium dry flavour, with the same elements, very little smoke though. The hops are very moderate. Some sourish hints in the finish.

A really nice and decent porter.
If you wondered…it is almost complete black. Ok intensity in the aroma. Fine body and an ok carbonation level. Easy to drink. Not flat or to soft. Then they are horrible. Chocolate, roast and coffee in the flavor.

22/5/2018. Cask at The Victoria Comet, Newcastle. Pours very dark brown with an average sized tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, medium roasted malt, liquorice, dried fruits and a light smoked edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight cteamy texture, soft carbonation. Sweeter lactose finish developing.

Half pour (cask) at the Shakespeare. Near black pour with small silky beige head. Light roasty aroma leads into a fuller taste, dark and bitter. Nic e feel.
