El Decapitador brings rich malt depth to the surface, smoothed by a subtle kiss of tequila barrel aging. Aromas of dried fruit, chocolate, and salted caramel swirl with a touch of oak, finishing with a warming, rounded mouthfeel. Rich and refined, with just a hint of mischief.

Malts: German Dark Munich, Pilsner, Weyerman Caramunich II
Hops: Magnum, Saaz

Cold Fermented, lagered 5 weeks, barrel-aged 10 months in Pilot House Blanco barrels

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma has soft tequila upfront, with toasted nuts and gentle bready malt. Flavour is rather rough, bringing out what seems like low-quality tequila, along with toasted nuts and a thin bready malt base. Not convincing as a doppelbock and the barrel aging doesn’t really convince either. Okay.
