Not just another boring wheat ale. We made Contact High, our spring and summer seasonal, exciting by adding copious amounts of pacific northwest hops and dry hopping with fresh orange zest. Contact High pours a bright orange hue with a big citrus aroma.

12 oz. can, $1.99 at Binny’s, bought in July. A nice zesty orange smell when opened, which stays around as I pour. Kicks up foams with a hint of lemon to it as well. Light gold color, just a touch of haze, big bubbly head. That citrus flavor is too much for a German hefeweizen, but its a good American Wheat with a big but not overdone note of fruit. Goes down well and quickly.

8/IX/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ home - BB or bottle date: V/21/14 (2014-972) Thanks to Fem for the bottle!

Clear bright orange beer, small aery to creamy head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, floral, honey, orange peel, bit sugary, marzipan. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of orange peel, some citrus, bit sweet, pretty hoppy, floral, spicy touch. Aftertaste: orange lemonade, sweet impression although fairly bitter, citric hops, bit floral, way too much orange peel. No balance at all.

12oz can from Frank is about the coolest can opening technique I’ve ever seen. I love how the whole top easily leavers off leaving a gaping large mouth. It pours with a clear gold body that supports a weak white head. The aroma offers up a nice mix of citrus, mango, an orange flavored gummy bear candy thing gong on, more orange juice and a bit of orange peel. The taste is nice and juicy with citrusy goodness, a sliver of mango and then a pleasing layer of resiny pine like hoppiness. It gets another flash of citrus juiciness toward the finish and then ends with more modest resiny hop bitterness. This is a wheat ale? Seems like a tasty IPA. I like it.

12oz can. Hazy yellow-orange. Thin fading head. Really big blood orange in the aroma, pronounced. Pretty unique, quality beer. The orange is really massive, but well incorporated. Pretty much what all those weird Blue Moon beers wish they were. Right on, the tropical orange tones leave a real pleasant aftertaste.

Hazy golden color with small head. Nice notes of citrus fruits in the nose, but also some malt. Dry but not weak, quite nice malt backbone, strong bitterness, with defined zesty hopping, oranges over all.
Very good summer beer.
