(printemps 2006)

On tap at Dieu du Ciel, pours a hazy golden / blond with a small white head. Aroma of light Belgian yeast, very subtle candied sugar and not much else. Flavour of cereal malt, Belgian yeas and dry bread. Very subtle and restrained. Decent stuff.

Draught, 5.4% at the brewpub. Distinct clove aroma. Hazy golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is also dominated by clove. OK bitterness in the finish.

Very slightly hazy blonde coloured body with a light white head. Aroma of malt, coriander seed, honey and little else. Medium-bodied; Sharp bitter malt with a good sweetness toward the end. Overall, a nice strong blonde - a lot of flavours albeit a bit unlike the style! I sampled this beer on draught from Dieu Du Ciel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 20-Fevrier-2006.

Thin white head. Light orange body. Spicy, fruity aroma. Sweetish-fruity-dry taste, quity dusty, spicy and grassy. Very balanced and harmonic. Dry, grassy aftertaste. Very nice session beer. (0.275l draft.)

Glass at DdC at the RBSG on 7/9/2005. Fortunately was able to have a glass of this to myself before it ran out (pretty early on in the day). Blonde-peach colored body, mostly clear with a small white head, some lacing as it recedes. Nose shows earthy, crusty bread, light corn flowers, heathery, slightly herbal hops. As I smell it, everything is done in good proportion and the aroma tickles the nose in a gentle way. Flavor begins with light pale grains, bits of yeast notes, a touch of wet, doughy whitebread. Hops flavor is awesome, IMHO: green, fresh, lightly spicy with notes of dill and other zesty herbs. Retronasal is lightly doughy, with some dry farmy hops. More flavors mix in to the palate, with a distinct herbal-mint note. As the beer finishes, there are oily, farmy hops, leafy, green hops that taste so fresh you can almost taste the flowers. Not much bitterness and with a slight touch of wateriness, not a bad thing, IMO, that allows for a refreshing drinkability. Medium body, not undermalted in the least. Low carbonation. I don’t know what it is with these Blonde beers from Quebec, but I really enjoy many of them more than most. I love McAuslan Griffon Blonde, enjoy a Boreale blonde on a hot day and now this; I could drink this stuff all day, any day.

Clear golden beer with a bubble gum aroma and spices. Wonderful alcohol warmth and sweet malts with a nice hops final. Not overcloying. Excellent balance.
