The Tarasque was a (most likely) mythical creature that has the head of a lion, six bear legs, a turtle shell, and a scorpion tail. It was probably some sort of an insect dinosaur hellbeast. A lady nun sang it to sleep in French Wallonia to end its reign of terror. Our saison leans French but is loaded with Australian hops. Superfruity, blossoming with yeasty spicy aromas, Tarasque is a beast you will want to overcome you, but it will softly sing you to sleep instead.

Drank from a can, on my boat. Aroma was a spicy, yeasty smell. Taste was a spicy, pleasant taste with nice balance upfront and a hoppy finish.

Rachel brought this one back from a trip. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a bright golden color with lots of chunks and floaters and an enormous soapy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. He aroma was musky and a bit funky with notes of bubblegum, yeast and herbal hops. The flavor was bitter, dryish and astringent with yeast, strong mustiness and earthy and floral hops. Long finish. Medium body. Not good

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam. Dry crackery malt nose, Belgian yeast, earthy hops on the palate but overly bitter. Dry finish. Not bad a but a tad astringent. The nose is completely there, just the hops/yeast get a little harsh on the end. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tarasque on 03 Aug 2017 at 19:41 - Score: 7. Can. Slightly hazy gold with some floaters and a tall, white head. Not really lace, but almost looks like clouds stuck to the sides in shapes of camels, Pac man, etc. Spicy yeasty aroma. Spicy, yeasty flavor with some slight funk and a nice hop bitterness.

Can at the motel in Austin - picked up at Stein’s in NOLA. Pours hazy orange-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Light dry yeast in the nose, soft grass, toasted grains. Light sweet flavour with notes of wheat, biscuits, husky grains, bitter grass, straw, lemon peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty well balanced and clean on the finish, with more grassy bitterness, citrus rind, pithy lemon, slight minerality, mellow yeast expression. Solid, very drinkable saison.

12 oz can, brought back to me by Beth, thanks! Poured a semi-hazy orange color with a very long lasting white head with some nice lacing. Aroma was light bubblegum, some peppery notes, barnyard. Straw. Actually quite tasty. Very refreshing.
