Pours dark brown from the can. Crown is frothy, sudsy, and subsides slowly. Aroma is a mix of roasted grains and soft chocolate notes. Taste is sweet, full of toffee and chocolate. Finishes with a very light hops bite. Body is medium, but to the lighter side. Carbonation is mild. Overall, nothing too exciting, but a still a solid and pleasant candidate for everyday sipping.

Draft. Deep brown body with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, hint of dark fruit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of chocolate, roast. Good balance between hop bitterness and sweet malts.

Shared 16 oz. can. Pours brown with a large beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Pretty good. Bonus point on overall score for the tactical grip "To prevent slippage while fleeing." The can does indeed have a substance sprayed on it which makes it easier to grip.

16 ounce can into pint glass, best before 12/11/2015. Pours nearly opaque dark brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toast, toffee, dark bread, lemon/orange citrus, floral, light smoke/coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/floral hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toast, toffee, dark bread, lemon/orange citrus, floral, light smoke/coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate floral/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, toffee, dark bread, light smoke/coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/floral hop flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice robust porter style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate citrus/floral hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Black pour under a tall, frothy tan head. Nutty, roast malt aroma. The flavor has a nice balance of roast malt bitterness and sweetness then the sweetness fades leaving a dry roast malt finish.
