Aroma: The nose has notes of toast, herbs, butterscotch, caramel, toffee, and spice
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with a small white head and minimal lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet with an acidic bitterness in the finish, a touch off finish-wise
Palate: The body is thin, crisp, and dry with a slightly sticky texture and fairly lively carbonation
Overall Impression: This beer is OK overall until you get to the finish. It just has something about it that I can't quite place. I don't know if it's the acidicness or what, but it's just a little bit off. Otherwise though, it isn't bad at all. An OK drinkable brew, but not much more than that.

Sampled on draft at the Back Bay Ale House in Atlantic City NJ this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized white head that lingered. The aroma was dryish and musty with faint pepper and cardboard underneath. The flavor was dry and musty with light notes of cardboard, citrus and honey. There was a faint tangy off flavor. The finish was long, dry and bitter. Light to medium body. Eh.

12oz bottle...7-30-09....dark straw color...not much head just a skimming.....grainy aroma with a touch of fruit like orange (light).....light malts and a touch of bitter hops...easy drinkin’ on a hot day....bitter lemon/orange citric finish

12 oz bottle courtesy of Thaichile. Pour is hazed straw golden with a pretty two inch white head. Fine carbonation bubbles streaming their way to the top. Aroma of earthy herbal maltiness and some soft citrus notes. Taste is grainy earthiness, melding into a light sweetness in the middle, and a crisp citric bitterness to the dry finish. Floral notes are present. Palate feels unfiltered, drinkable and satisfying. Quite a bit of character in this one, I enjoyed it. Thanks Mark!

2005 bottle at Mondial, 6/5/05. Pour is a tangerine-orange, mixed with pale white golds and straw yellows. Smattering of lightly foamy white head, recedes quickly to cover, with a touch of lacing, albeit very small. Body has a slight chill haze to it. Aroma grants a bit of malt sweetness, with a slight tinge of sourish wheat, bits of honey dough and lightly sweet orange-hibiscus tea. Passing earthy tones could be called lightly funky, but it is more earthy and dusty. Flavor begins with light, sweet citrus notes, honey and slightly chewy malt and wheat. Yeast delivers Belgian character, though you arent going to mistake this for Blaugies. . .Body is medium, with low carbonation, lightly peppery at times. Ends with a farmy and citrusy mix of hops and yeast, light bits of malt sticking to the palate. Touches of dough and yeast linger on the finish. Interesting and quite refreshing, but it’s still not the real thing, so I think.

on tap-a nice golden color. A white head that reduced to minimal. Aroma-hoppy, flavor-hoppy. Towards crisp/dry. Not complex, nice.

Slightly hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Nice sweet aroma with hints of grass, mushrooms, hops and yeast. Light-bodied; Sweet taste with some mustyness and yeast characteristics. Aftertaste clean and mild, not much else! Overall, not too great, lacking in many qualities and below expectation. I bought this twelve ounce bottle from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. and sampled it on 19-December-2003.

This beer is a pale gold/yellow color and is mildly bubbly. Thin off-white head that did not last. The aroma is wheaty and vaguely spiced. Light and crisp with a nice hops presence along with more spice and a little citrus. The finish is a little on the sweet side but has a small hops bite to it. Kudos to Flying Fish for actually making a Summer Ale with some flavor other than lemon.

Bright golden. Toasty, herbal, spicy aroma. Clean yeast character, faint pale malts and a little bit of spiciness. Also some yeast and minerals. Quick, refreshing.

Old notes (2000: Beige with a spicy, yeasty-fruity aroma, the carbonation is spritzy but forceful, and the palate showing the malty-yeasty-spicy combination of a grisette, but lighter in body. 7 3 6 3 14 = 3.3
