Trader Joe’s, DC six-pack ($6): Pours a golden color with your standard sea-foam head. Aroma is of adjuncts and some hops. Not entirely tasteless, but still pretty watery. There is a certain amount of that Northern European hop bitterness in there. Drinkable and really cheap (this vs. 211, I would take this any day). Also, it says that it is made in Germany not Belgium on the can.

Not a great pilsner, but far better than your standard pale lager. Bright golden color and long lasting white head. Well carbonated. Lager yeast. You know it is a pils, but just barely.

Purchased on my trip to Nashville in a one pint can. Pours a clean golden colour with a white head. Foamy with decent retention and very dirty lacing. Very light carbonation. Fresh grain scent with nice pils hop. Good bitterness with grass notes and some mild grain. Not a bad Euro lager with a nice creamy mouthfeel and pretty refreshing.

16 ounce can from Trader Joe’s Glen Allen, VA. Pours a crystal clear pale gold color with a large fizzy white head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of grass, corn and hay. Taste is watery, grainy, some grass and slightly metallic. One of the most watery and tasteless beers I’ve ever had. Thin. Watery. Watery and thin. Good thing too as I’m thirsty. Glad it was only a buck.

16oz can. Filtered thin yellow-orange color with a pretty massive white head. Classic Euro-Pils aroma, a little dough and brewhouse in the aroma. Some soapy crispness up front leads to a sweet malty body. Light bodied and pretty bland, still a small notch above your BMC swill.

Bottle on 07/20/2008. Very clear golden body with a medium white head. Toasty and honey aroma, light grassy hop hints. Dry toasty flavor, some grain and light skunk, with more honey and a very mild floral hop flavor and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Medium light body with moderate carbonation and a sticky finish.

Bottle. Pours a orange golden color, looks like ginger ale with a small bubbly head. The aroma is a sweet corn and black licorice. Sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is also sweet and licorice with a clean finish. Not too much going on with this pilsener.

50 cL can. Slightly corny aroma. Hint of grass. Brassy gold color with a very impressive white head. Medium body with slightly harsh carbonation. Starts with pale malt sweetness accompanied by Noble hop. A bit watery towards the finish, which is a tad vegy with definite, though light, bitter. It’s ok.
