Sampled on draft at the Chadds Ford location this beer poured a bright yellow color with a large foamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was faint citrus, almost perfume and a bit of yeast. The flavor was tart and lemony with hints of Windex, dust and yeast. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Clear golden with a full white head. Aroma is light zesty and earth notes. Flavor is similar with a touch of fruit notes- mostly citrus. A very crisp and clean saison. Very nice.

On tap at GABF. Pours with a hazed yellow body with a small white head. Aromas are estery and a bit phenolic. Pear, apple, grainy. A bit of sour fruit and a hint of earthy funk. Flavors are a bit of sour apple, grassy, grainy, light brett perhaps. Lively bubbles and dry. Tasty. Bottle version seemed quite a bit more sour.

11th October 2008. GABF. Probably should have had this before the ’De Luxe’ version but this still stood up to it’s big brother. Slightly hazy gold beer. Sharp and crisp with nice rye aromatics. Very dry finish.

GABF2009 - my first saison of the evening - a very tangy and spicy saison, with some rustic grassy notes, lemony notes, and a distinct wheaty quality - the addition of rye adds a bit more heft than your average saison (this saison rue, with a little less body), and compliments the spices and lightly bitter hops really well - a decent saison, but I expected transcendence given this brewers reputation.

Had this at the brewhouse in Melvern. There it was rated at 7%. Rather clear and pale yellow for a saison. Has a very mild sweet aroma, that’s about it for the olfactory. Thin teafroth head. Has quite a hop bite for a saison, I’m a little startled. I could say this is more like an IPA or a very strong APA. Good tingly carbonation. I find it hard to beleive this is a saison, did the bartender mix up my sample? I don’t think so, I saw him pour it. As I drink more, I do find out it has a little of that farmhouse feel to it. Farmy, yet strong willed on the hop side. Way to bitter for this lager lover. Strongest ABV in the pub and it leaves a typical IPA linger associated with bitter medicine.
