This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was semi-dark burnt brown color with a slim finger’s worth of white to off white head that dissipated at a nice pace. Filmy to foamy off white lace almost covers the sides in rings.
The smell starts off with some sweet nutty/toffee/caramel malt up front and then some earthy and piney hop bitterness.
The taste was basically the same with a clean sweet sliding aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation rides fairly light. Piney bitterness comes back to adequately make a decent effort for some harshness on my tongue.
Overall, hard to tell if its an English or an American brown ale, I’d say mostly a balance between the two as the aroma leans more American, but the flavor leans more English, hmmm...good stuff, I’d have again.
