Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7
Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown color close to black. Thin white foamy head glazes atop and dissipates gently, light lace.
The aroma had some sticky chocolate malts. Light smooth roast. Low bitterness from some coffee bean.
The flavor follows through on a sharp bitter contrast to the roast. Eventually portions out a nice level balance of it all. Light malty to roasty aftertaste. Sly sweet roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice balance of the bitterness of the hops to the roast hitting my tongue. Low carbonation.
Overall, good porter willing to have again.
