Reviewed from notes.
On tap at the brewpub.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt copper/slightly golden color with a cap of a white foamy/semi-bubbly head that quickly fizzled out.
The aroma had some floral sweetness over a slight grassy hoppiness and then a nice smooth base malt.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and then ever so slightly brought in the hops. Didn’t seem to come together as well as I had hoped for. Malty smooth sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. But is that good? I’m questioning it a little bit. I was hoping for a bigger penetration of bitterness in the feel, but that doesn’t seem like it’s there. ABV felt where the brewer intended.
Overall, it’s a decent DIPA, just seems like there’s so many of them in Vermont.
