Reviewed from notes.
Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy copper to slightly dark yellow color with a finger’s worth of quickly dieing head that left some light messy lace.
The aroma had some citrus bitter rind with an ample amount of puckering sour grapefruit pith. Some grassy bitterness. Light tart red cherries at the very end.
The flavor blended the sour to the sweet with a crisp tartness pushing a little bit of oomph at the end. Nicely blended sour to tart to sweet aftertaste punching the finish in the same sort of way.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair crisp sessionability about it. Some clingy carbonation was felt. ABV felt fine. Sourness does end up giving off a slight abrasive quality on my tongue.
Overall, fairly nice sour ale that 14th Star did. I could have again.
