Pours mahogany-tinged black into an English pint. Tan head with little retention recedes to nothing. Dark caramel, licorice and soy aromas. Thick with sweet, dark, dried pit fruit, chocolate and licorice upfront turning to dry soy in the medium length finish.

Keg at Brewdog Reading. Black with a thin beige heat and a light fizz. Chocolate syrup, obvious alcohol, coffee syrup, some cinnamon and white pepper. Quite sweet but with a dry finish. Decent, but I preferred the Brewdog Sea Weasel I had just before.

Taster pour at the source. Appearance is dark brown, almost black, with small light brown head with a bit of lacing. Aroma is roasty, dark fruits. Taste is dark roasted malts with mix of mild chocolate, dark fruit, a bit bitter. Palate is full bodied with thick, frothy texture, average carbonation with mix of sweet and bitter roast finish. Overall, a nice porter with a range of flavors.
