Our decadent Oatmeal Stout lovingly aged in Bourbon barrels. Beautiful chocolate, espresso and vanilla-bourbon aromas hold your nose hostage. Rich dark chocolate truffle, bourbon and espresso create a dangerously smooth and incredibly drinkable barrel aged Oatmeal Stout. Hoarding tendencies may occur.

Lovely in their style, clearly their american yeast and house taste. Not oatmeal just a nice stout. BeerTemple ams

Draft/Fest. A- Cocoa, roasty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Coffee, cocoa, nutty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Surprisingly one dimensional in my opinion. Really expected some more flavors to come through. But I also felt Velvet Merlin was a bit underwhelming.

(Bottle, vintage 2016) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, wood, dark bread and a touch of coffee. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, coffee, dark bread, bourbon, oak wood, coconut, vanilla, dark fruit, prunes, and a balanced cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Tasty and well made imperial oatmeal stout with a good bourbon barrel character. Really well balanced. Great beer.

Bottle from Weihenweizen: pours black with beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, chocolate, hints of coffee. Taste is smooth, lightly sweet. Given the comparative low abv it is definitely on the lighter end. Tasty.

Creamy tan head stayed on a dark brown body. Malt, bourbon & raisin aroma. Medium to full, soft & fluffy with a cloying back. Liquorice, malt, vanilla, cereal, coffee, chocolate & raisin tastes. Cracking beer.

35,5 cl bottle @ home Blind tasting: 2017, 2018 and 2019. My guess on this was 2018. Aroma has coffee, bourbon and vanilla. Also oat. Feels rather rich. Alcohol is present. Flavour has artifical candy, bourbon, vanilla tones, some licorice. Pleasant but perhaps even a bit boring. Alcohol almost not present at all on first sip but occurs afterwards. Smooth. 9-4-8-4-40.
