London Calling is our easy drinking pub staple English ESB. It has a pronounced malty sweetness, featuring notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted biscuit and a moderate, earthy, herbal hop bitterness. London, our muse, is home to a great many beloved characters; Ms. Poppins, Paddington Bear, Fagin, Mrs. de Vil, Oliver! and Mr. Bean just to name a few. Royal Docks has become a second home to a great many characters as well and we dedicate this release to all of our taproom favourites - especially Mr. & Mrs. Preston, Mr. E. Martin, Mr. B. Bailey, The Burmeisters, Mr. R. Schmidt & Co., The Sirpillas and Dr. & Mrs. Cochran to name just a small very small cast.

Note: ABV ranges from 6.2 - 6.6%

From a pounder can. Pours clear pale with a slightly darker orange brown tint. Nose is very mild, barely detectable, sweeter bread biscuit and earthly caramel. Decent first taste, but just a tad boozy. Good level of carbonation. Getting some hints of developing cloying sweet caramel as I near the middle. Perhaps not as civilized as many real ESBs. Has a way to go to be as good as Bullseye Stone Pub, McNeill's Extra Special and Big Rail Pennsylvania. Yes, the sweetness really starts getting on my nerves as I approach the finish. Seems to get more flat as the session continues. Demeanor and attitude is a bit bearing. Some volatility shows up in the end. On par with Bass Pale, Firestone DBA and Goose Island Harvest. There, you have it.
