True to Prairie, the 2 year old beer still pours a huge, dark beige-light tan head with very strong retention. Cola-chestnut-tinged dark mahogany body seems to be opaque, as well. Light to moderate sediment left behind in the bottle.
Christmas spices! Yum. Smells quite "dry" in the nose but somehow very pleasant and inoffensive. Light cinnamon, potpourri and initially, strong char-like roast. Over the course of beer, 45 minutes or so, I only get slight alcohol vapors, certainly nothing unexpected for this abv. Chocolate, fig, raisin, dry woodsmoke and tons of balanced cinnamon, hazelnut and potpourri. Vanilla and very light fudge linger.
Shockingly dry in the mouth, it shows little resemblance to the massively syrupy, boozy, sweet Birthday or regular BOMB! Wow, I’ll be damned, this is quite nice. Lots of dry spicing: tea, cinnamon, black pepper, chili pepper, ash, cocoa and light soy, but yet enough malt still remaining to balance. Soft, velvety texture and low but tight carbonation. Drinks like an 8 or 9% beer. Well at this point, I’m pretty confused with Prairie. Thought I had arrived at the conclusion the Bomb series was a hot sticky mess and to drink the Noir series. But this changes things...

lack color, the beige compact head reduces quickly. Heavily roasted aroma, coffee, some spices, nutmeg, Chinese roots, ginseng. Good body strength, smooth moutfeel; dark chocolate flavor, over ligt residual sweetness, roasted malts, coffee, spices, chilies; heavily roasted final, with alcohol burn.
With such sharp flavors, it would have been better with some more sweetness. Good, but overpriced.

341ml bottle from Park Royal. Pours a very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is very woody and grassy with some coffee and chocolate notes. Taste is spices, chocolate, burnt malt. Surprisingly not a full-bodied as Imperial Stout should be. Spices notes, burnt malt aftertaste. Not bad, but quite odd as for Imperial Stout.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown squat bottle poured into a snifter. Black with dark brown highlights. Aroma is ginger, thick body, low carbonation, and thin small-bubble lacing. Taste is chocolate, ginger, and coffee. I prefer regular bomb over this, lots of ginger, one might consider this a spiced ale rather than an imperial stout.

On tap at whole foods. Opaque black / brown coloured pour with a loose mid tan head. Aroma is spicy Jamaica cake, smooth roast, chocolate, burnt coco, some cinnamon, flavour is composed of bitter choc, liquorice, dark choc, cakey malts, bitter black malts. Woody bark and some Christmas spices are in balance. Palate is medium full, rounded, moderate carbonation, sweet. Lingering bitter dark choc and liquorice.
