During Medieval times, “The Shadow of the Sun” was how European Alchemists defined the Crow. It was their symbol for the blackness of despair and chaos.
We see the Crow as a Life Force so powerful it can actually live off Death itself. After all, it's not Death if you refuse it…

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear amber beer, short and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, a mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, a light malt cream sweetness with toffee and caramel. Trace of esters. Ripe fruits, a little dried fruits. Comes together fairly well, some mild alcohol spice on the semi dry finish. One of those barleywines that shares a Venn intersection with a quad. Tasty all the same.

Can split on 832/813 to Stanhope, thanks to the Wingmane, 05/04/2025.
Almost clear amber to copper topped with an off white cap that thins in time.
Nose is fruit cake, figs, dates, brown sugar melt.
Taste comprises toffee, brown sugar melt, prunes, raisins, dark malts.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a mellow boost offered.
Tidy enough sipper if no Wow.

5 ounce at the brewery - clear amber - rough and ready American barleywine, with a firm base of caramelized maltiness, some bright fruitiness, and a hoppy finish - nothing fancy, but scratches the itch.

$11.29 Bomber from Wine Warehouse, #2197/5000, Ghost 541 if that matters. My bottle says 10% abv. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of cherry, caramel, wet dog, dried fruit. Flavor is slightly sweet black cherry, toffee, citrus peel, caramel, a hint of nuttiness - almost like the finish of a nutty brownie. Quite yummy.
