Resonance is a rich and complex imperial stout, initially barrel-aged for 18 months in Heaven Hill and Wild Turkey barrels, then followed by a 6-month finishing touch in selected barrels (it's a double barrel, in other words). The result is a smooth, bold and velvety stout, layered with complex flavors and aromas from the malt, the barrels, and the slow oxidation processes that happened over the long period of time the beer rested in barrels.
The beer is off the rack, meaning that no spices, sugars other has been added to the beer after the barrel-aging. It is pure and balanced beer, shaped by patience and dedication, and it might be the best barrel-aged stout that we have made so far in the history of Salikatt.

pitch dark, brown head
aroma of roasted malts, whiskey, bourbon, sweet smelling dry wood, very faint salt caramel, delicate well rounded imp stoutish roasted malty borbon BA aroma, quite blended, not too crazy even after 24 months of barelling - perhaps bc of the high abv. btw. abv not noticable in the aroma.
really nice non-pastry bourbon roasted malty aroma, a bit bitter wood and bitter caramel though, but too faint to be a nuisance, and the overall flavor is straight on fantastic. the bitter wood/burnt plastic/bitter caramel fant note is what moved it from 9 to 8.5
good soft mouthfeel, aftertaste is roasted malty with a few bitter notes
imho this one is at bourbon county stout level, even feels less boozy than some of those.

Bottle. Sweet, sticky, not very warming. Oily, with roasted malts, dark chocolate and some soy sauce. Molasses and a touch of coffee beans. Full-bodied, smooth. Delicious. Borderline modern Barley Wine. Nice. 848415 260419
