Hoppier that a (insert joke here), and bitter as ..... Blah, blah, just drink it! This double IPA is brewed with the same grain bill each time and to the same IBU, but the late hops in each version will be whatever we think will wreak most havoc on your palates.

Bottle at home picked up from Sourced Market a while back. Clear bright reddy amber coloured pour with a lasting frothy off white head. Aroma is sharp grapefruit, orange zest, citrus, some hot alcohol on the nose. Little bi of funk on the nose like slight bile. Flavour is composed of sharp citrus, grapefuit, lime, trat, toasty, biscuity malts. Hop bitterness is very sharp and aggressive. Bitterness is tempered slightly by the slight sweetness from the malts. Alcohol is presentbut is pretty subdued for the abv. Palate is semi-sweet, moderate carbonation, slight viscous. A bit floral orange note on the nose develops a bit later. Ok but the balance is a bit off, which stops it from being great.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Clear golden orange with thin bubbly off-white head. Aromas of woody notes, citrus, resin, malt, slight acetone/medicinal notes. Tastes of bitter citrus, floral, biscuit, light toast, lemon lime, medicinal flavors. Medium-light body with a dry and warm finish. Not a fan of this one and kind of strange tasting for the style.

(Keg at Black Door, 20141114) The keg had no information of the batch but the bar staff assumed this has to be at least the version 5. The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had creamy toffee, fruitiness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, creamy toffee, sweetness, pine, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. The taste was pleasant and it lasted long.

Draught @ Black Door. Aroma is rather fruity with hops and caramel. Also some fruit candy. Flavour has alcohol, fruit candy, some caramel and grapefruit. Also some licorice. Way too much unpleasant and long-lingering alcohol tones here.
