Sample at The Craft Pint. The beer pours a dark reddish-brown color with a medium creamy beige head that dissipates steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, malt and coffee. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted coffee, grainy malt and mild coffee. The finish is sweet cocoa and malt. Decent overall.

12 ounce bottle. Deep reddish brown color. Thick creamy beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront. Spicy, grainy chocolate malt flavor. Full bodied and flavorful, with complex spicy hops in the finish. A light smoky character emerges as the brew warms.

Draught. Opaque dark brown with medium sized creamy beige head, caramel and burnt aroma, low carbonation, roasted malt taste, thin body, long bitter finish. Not bad for a porter.

From a bottle this is a nice looking black beer with a rolling pour and tan head. Looks very appealing. Smell is typical stout or porter, friendly with just a hint of hop/rye notes. Taste is big dark beer with some bitter rye attributes. Not as rude as expected considering its near 7% alky. Decent co2 with a slight creamy feel to it. Finish is medium strong hop/rye bitter linger.

Some decent roast and all around drinkable porter, if nothing superb in the way of aroma. Light caramel and dark chocolate. Black pour with initial mocha head and lacing. Light to medium bitter finish. Soft carbonation. Tap at Churchkey.
