Bottle, at Gladmat. It’s a clear dark golden beer with a white fingerthick head. The aroma is quite fruity, with a light alcohol-sweet touch. Pine cones and grass. It’s full-bodied and a bit warming on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. More on the sweet side than on the dry side. There’s enough bitterness to deal with the pale malts and light alcohol touch. Quite fruity, with a lasting finish. Far from superb this one, but it’s a decent beer anyway. Rating: 6-4-5-4-11-3.0. 140726

Bottle. As Frihetsøl. It pours a lightly hazy dark golden body and a small but dense off-white head. The aroma is quite fruity-sweet, with some alcohol notes, Hints of canned peaches in the far back. It’s full-bodied and well carbonated, rather sweetish on the palate, with fruityness, a bitterness trying to bring some balance, and a touch of canned peaches. A generic fruityness does most of the flavor work though. Not much alcohol in the flavor, neither initially nor in the sweet and fruity finish. Overall, it’s too sweet I think, but it’s clean and quite tasteful anyway. Not a beer I buy more than once. 140731

0.33l bottle. This is one of those you can call a clear one. It has a golden colored body and a nice big lasting and softly lacing white head. Mild nose with tones of sweet malts and lots of floral things in the back. Yeah, lots and lots. After a while I get a strong sweet apply cider aroma as well. There is not really much more going on here. Smells alright, if perhaps a tad boring. Sweet cornish flavors. Bah, this isn't really all that good to be honest. The taste reminds me a lot of a really dull and boring Italian bock I had once. Marrabretta.... Light oily in the mouth and it has a soft to average carbonation level. Mild cabbage and metallic undertones. Sweet and pretty much as dull as they get. Who wants to buy this more than once? Yeah, this is definitely not mine kinda thing. 06.06.2014

33cl bottle from Vinmopolet Kiellandsplass. Pours clear, deep golden with a white head. Moderate malty and grainy aroma with caramel, some fruity notes and hints of herbal hops. Medium sweet with a fairly light bitterness. Hints of alcohol too. Quite okay, but not my kind of beer. Fair enough, but not a beer I would buy again.

En liten anslse søtlig duft av frukt og gjær. Fin gyllen farge. Lite skum, liten ring langs kant. En littt bitter smak av karamell og frukter. Et helt greit øl å ta på Norges 200 år dag.

Bottle at home. Has a clear, light golden amber color, and with a medium-sized, creamy and off-white head. The aroma is both fruity and sweet with a touch of proper British fudge, apricot, hay, leather, sweet malt and some sweet corn and lemon. The taste is a bit sweet as well with touches of more wood and apricot, and with grassy hops in the end. The beer is also a bit dry in the aftertaste. Mouth feel is smooth, and the bitterness is at a low level. This is in many ways a tasty beer for a Dortmunder to be, but is also an easy-drinking beer. The beer have a good balance, nice freshness and a pleasant fruitiness.
