Can to snifter.
Appearance: pours brown but leaves more of a darker close to black color with less than a finger's worth of tan foamy head which quickly disintegrated and didn't leave any lace
Aroma: chocolate malts up front then some black coffee, light ash, earthy accents, super light maple with some sweet wafer further down in there
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fairly dry roasty and sweet character; finishes with roasty coffee tones and ash/char
Texture: medium bodied, leaning to be a sipper; very dry along the tongue with some of that ashy/char vibe digging in on the tongue
Overall: I think they need to smooth out that texture that's one of the biggest things that needs to happen and don't be afraid to use more maple syrup in this beer that might help on the feel and give a more balanced aroma, just my two cents
