Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is sweet malt with caramel, orange peel, ripe fruity and spicy notes, hops, berries. Flavour is medium sweet with a surprising long bitterness in the finish. Body is medium to full. I prefer hoppy Barley Wines and this one's interesting, with lots of unexpected flavours such as (dark) berries, spices and orange peel. Good!

Gedeeld door Roelzie1986. Het is een roodbruin bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige fruitige geur. De smaak is vol en fruitig.

330ml bottle. Clear deep ruby appearance, good off-white head. Punchy fruity nose. Bitter, woody introduction with brown sugar, molasses, grainy moments, moderately sweet with some caramel notes. Quite pokey, flavoursome. Very good.

Just a light haze on this amber beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Some mildly bitterish toffee in the malts along with a touch of malt cream. Dominant taste is that Tonka cocoa vanilla nutty thang. Have to say it works a little better in barleywines than impys where it tends to piss me off. Some marmalade bitterness on the smooth semi dry finish. Tasty enough.

Bottle. Brown color. Dried fruit, trad and fresh hops in the aroma. Malty sweet, furiously hopped flavor, slightly herbal with tea and dried citrusfruit.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. hazy dark amber with a thin white head. Caramel aroma with some raisins. Taste is sweet at first with a caramel sweetness but quickly turns very bitter with a lingering bitter finish. Bit sharp and maybe too alcoholic but otherwise very decent barley wine.
