Deep, dark brown coloured body with a thick, tan head - about three centimetres tall. Aroma of rye, funky grain, toast, yeast, raisins, grapes, alcohol and a dash of rubber (from new tires). Medium to Full-bodied; Super rich rye and malt flavours at first with a huge dose of toast and peated malt with some deep caramelised sugar sweetness and a hint of lactose and more noticeable sugars toward the end with a lot of bitterness throughout. Aftertaste is clean, but full of flavour - predominantly the rye, alcohol and even some tobacco is noticeable towards the end. Overall, a very strong and pungent rye-based IPA that borders of 'Imperial' status, which shows the thicker rye malt and deep flavours well, while still having enough hop bitterness to battle through successfully. Good to sample, especially buying on Halloween and sampling just an additional day later. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 02-November-2019 for US$2,99.

Crowler from Dominion, pours a murky, dark brown with some light, lacing, off white head. Nose is more amber ale than porter, caramel, some fall fruits, malt, the soap is there too, mild perfume, mild pine. Flavor is chewy with malts and grains, dried apples slices, some spice, light toast, pine, perfume. Finishes bitter and lightly sweet.

Walnut nose, not strong. Cloudy cola brown, thin head. Orange peel, soil, mulberry. Full body, easy carbonation. Tangy and roasty, not what I think this style is meant to be.

4oz pour at Spacebar. Poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, earthy and citrus hops. Flavor was nice roasted notes, light coffee, dark chocolate. Pine finish. This is really well made.
