Undated bottle, drunk 2/20/16.
Deep black ebony beer shows a dark tan head that shows no retention. Clarity is low.
Phenol, massively anise-like roast, and a huge glue note lingering. Some light soy and crunchy roast behind it. Lots of glue.
Black licorice, anise, bitter roast, and creme brulee. Hmmm i want to like this and its nicely dry, but its so intensely peppery and astringent with heavy coffee and treacle. Light carbonation, lightly loose. Low alcohol. Lots of char

Willrunforbeer with this bottle share. Labeled as 9th Anniversary. Thin talk lasting head. aroma is chocolate, dry roast, soy sauce, burnt grain.

Alcohol is rather mellow. Pretty much as it smells. Bold chocolate, dry roasted texture in a mostly full body. Pretty respectable.

Thanks WillRun. Pitch Black here. looks a bit oily. Smells pretty good. It has a really good sweetness, solid bitterness with the standard aromas in a stout. Exceptional mouthfeel. Really spot on. Coats the mouth, really a joy to drink. There’s a bit of smoked malt here for sure but the molasses adds a great complexity. has a sweetness with refined bitterness with a really good finish.

Quite a nice beer. Big roast aroma, with some musky dark chocolate and light coffee. Just a hint of caramelized malt. Medium bitter finish. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Thick, creamy consistency. Bottle thanks to noodleuser.
