Rich in flavour, this strong ale is always welcomed when it returns to the pumps. Osprey Strong Ale is described as a 'strong golden coloured bitter which is clean and refreshing with a generous, well hopped bitterness'.

DAark amber, clear, bubbly white head
Aroma of sweet light caramel malts, soft sweet fruits, dab of sweet apple
Taste of sweet caramel malts, dab of toffee malt, sweet honey, slight yeast, hardly any hops, mainly malts, dull
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, sweet. Finish slightly dry, bit yeasty
Overall - Standard stuff - maybe should have chilled it before hand to make it more palatable. Not good - thrown out

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear golden orange, no real head to speak of. Sweet malt and biscuit aromas, light butterriness, light floral note. Taste has some apples, quite sweet in a sugary way, no real hop presence. Light and a touch thin on the finish. OK.

cask at Guildford Arms about a month ago - Pours deep golden with a lingering white head. It smells of bread and malt. The flavor is sweet, lightly fruity, and bready. It has a smooth, creamy mouth feel with mild hops in the finish. Not bad.
