6.8/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 7
Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14

Aroma: The nose is fruity and sweet, with Belgian yeast, spice, and some herbal hop notes
Appearance: It pours a murky orange color with a small white head and streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is medium-plus sweet, with some spice, and a later herbal hop
Palate: The body is medium, it has a bit of stickiness, and a long, slightly spicy finish
Overall Impression: This is another name that brings back some nice memories for me. I always enjoyed the story of the origin of Thee Chopt Road. As for the beer, this one is a solid tripel. From the description I was thinking maybe it would be a little drier, but it is still a pretty sweet beer.

750ml bottle, slightly underfilled like all the other Lickinghole beers I’ve had. Poured a murky golden brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was yeast, grain notes, with some fruity character to it. Lots of grain character, not exactly clean, but pretty flavorful. Notes of lemon, bready yeast. Would have liked a bit more clarity in this one.
