3 finger dense creamy off white head. I almost thought this was infected but honestly I think it’s just the wine barrel. lots of tannins and grapes. Thin mouthfeel. The taste is not really great. Some spice and herbs, for sure red wine present. Decent and another I’d like to try fresh

Pours bright mahogany into a stang. Tan micro head recedes leaving sheets. Sweet and sour grape aromas. Sharp with oak and grape skin front to back. Lasting bitter root finish.

Bottle shared at Craig’s - picked up at Julio’s. Pours unclear golden golden-brown with a creamy tan head. The nose is quite funky, with tangy berries, leather, earth. Light-medium sweet flavor with further tart, leathery berries, cherry, earth, wood. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tangy berry finish, a little jammy, with alight alcohol, moist wood, slight bread. Quite novel. Gets better as I drink it.

Location: 12.7 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/11/14
Aroma: The nose is sweet and vinous, strong malts, dark fruit, oak, and some spice
Appearance: This one pours a rather murky dark reddish-brown color with a thick, lasting froth of beige-brown head that leaves a heck of a lot of coating and drippy lacing on the glass
Flavor: The flavor is heavy sweet and very malty, the red wine is very present here, there's no balance
Palate: The mouthfeel is rather smooth, with average carbonation, and a dry wine finish
Overall Impression: This may have been sitting in the back of the fridge for a minute, not I'm not exactly sure when I got it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't super recently. Anyway, I'm not really sure how well the red wine blends with the underlying beer, but this one felt closer to a miss to me than a hit. It was still worth trying though.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Phatdog1. Yet another bottle without any kind of bottle date or best buy. Marked as 6.5% ABV. Dark ruby color without any head. Aroma is red wine grapes and tannins oak.
Flavor is more along the lines of a red wine. Red wine vinegar, musty oak in a chalky, roasted malt body. Medium body with a real soft carbonation. Port wine or perhaps a sherry hint. Lightly astringent in the finish.

375 ml bottle pours a translucent garnet amber with a thin ring of white head. Nose is all dubbel, candy sugar, yeasty esters, some booze, some concord grape, caramel, prune, bubblegum. Flavor has more barrel, a little vanillin, a bit of sharp cherry cough syrup, woody, some beet sugar, lime zest. Full bodied finish. A bit unfocused.
