22oz bottle at Bert's in Millersville, PA. Ooh wee that was rummy. Nowadays a lot of brewers have cut back the barrel booze on their BA impy stouts but not Newport. I think Newport always feels there is too much beer in their beers. But I sort of like the consistency and a lack of following the trend. I am pretty sure I didn't finish my 6oz pour from the bottle but I did enjoy it. Couldn't really taste much of the base Impy, which seemed a bit weaker b/c of the barrel alcohol. But I would do it again, particulary because the price was right.

Bottle original purchased from... unknown. I actually don’t remember where I got this beer, but I suspect it was when I was in NC a while back, though it could have easily been from somewhere else. Anyway, poured a strikingly dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma was a blast of vanilla and rum. Woody notes permeate this one. Light sweet boozy malts.
